Organizing

I have the pleasure of organizing, with Doug Portmore, two conferences in ethics at the University of Notre Dame: the Ethics at Notre Dame symposium (ENDs) and Books in Ethics at Notre Dame (BookENDs). You can find out more about these and my other organizing efforts below. 

ENDs is a biennial, thematic conference in normative ethics held every other spring at the University of Notre Dame beginning in 2027. Free and open to all registrants, ENDs aims both to advance new work on significant themes in ethical theory and to support scholars—especially those early in their careers—through feedback, mentorship, and potential publication opportunities. The theme for 2027's symposium is "Ethics Beyond Action," and abstracts are due December 6, 2026. You can find out more about the conference and view the call for abstracts here. 

BookENDs is a biennial, invitation-only book manuscript workshop. It will be held at the University of Notre Dame every other fall, starting in 2027. You can find more information, including instructions for submitting a proposal by March 29, 2027, here. 

I have the pleasure of organizing this one-off workshop with Jess Isserow and Doug Portmore. It features ~22 participants from Michigan and Notre Dame, seven sessions, and a lovely lakeside location. 

This annual conference alternates between Notre Dame and Northwestern, with the non-hosting graduate student team offering organizing support, typically in the form of reviewing submissions, to the hosting university's team. I was involved in 2023-24 and 2024-25. Submissions are typically due in February or March each spring, and CFPs can be found at PhilEvents.

The Women's Group in the Notre Dame Philosophy Department exists to support women graduate students. As co-director from Fall 2021 through Fall 2025, I organized the annual graduate-faculty dinner and many one-off events, like an afternoon of mini explainer-style talks.
