In epistemology and ethics, I’m interested in the nature and limits of our epistemic grasp of the world around us (including other people) and implications for our ethical lives. Before grad school, I earned an A.B. in philosophy at Princeton University. Between undergrad and grad school, I taught second grade for two years at an independent school in Norfolk, Virginia. (Which I loved. You can find out more about my teaching here.) Before all of that, I was born and lived most of my life in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A few of my favorite things are: my family, including our border collie, Isla; Middlemarch by George Eliot; and spring. My favorite season used to be fall, but then I moved to South Bend, Indiana, where the first glimpse of spring green is a religious experience.
